Cookies and Cakes
7 May 2005
Dearest Mei Sin,
Things have been amazingly erratic recently.
I know you have been feeling all perked up the other day, during your first year anniversary of your work. If it was me, it wouldn’t probably been such a big deal at all, but I understand that it must have been something meaningful to you. Sorry if there wasn’t any “celebration” at all. I got caught up with things to do that day and it was rather too late to cook up some plans at the time you told me about it. I sense that you had the feeling of independence, or achievement for going through one whole year in the working world, totally unscathed and ready for more. I bet there’ll be more interesting years ahead to look forward to. Time flies, doesn’t it?
And now, you’re even having ideas of continuing on with your postgraduate studies, Must have been the consequent of listening to too much academic talks from me. Now, you are ready to get your circuitries burnt! Self-improvement is good. The last I heard was something of cookies, cakes and an oven. Sounds ambitious, and I’m looking forward to be your tester.
Then you fell sick yesterday, mysteriously. I think you are more likely not to fall sick than I am, whenever the flu bug comes. I was surprised, but maybe it’s my turn next! Pesky flu bug is around again, this time of the year. Anyway, it was good to see you feeling much better this morning. You were dead hungry in the morning, and that appetite was a good sign.
You should always remember than even when the going gets though (in all these things), I’ll be there to spur you on.
Love,
John
