I miss the sun!
10 November 2007
As a person who doesn’t step out into the sun without holding an umbrella, I wouldn’t usually say this – “I miss the sun!”. But now I do….I sincerely do. Without the sun, everything is so gloomy! Take this photo of Stephansdom for example. Without the sun rays, the majestic Stephansdom looks so pale and “sad” even.
Here’s a stark difference. See how the sunlight makes such huge impact!
As winter approaches, the night gets longer. It means that the number of hours we get sun light is getting shorter and shorter. It’s just so amazing to see the sun starts setting at around 3pm. I took these photos while I was studying in the library.

Coming from a tropical country that is located near the equator, I have always taken for granted that the sun should rise at around 6 – 630am, and set at around 6 -7pm, only slight variation at certain time of the year. Somehow my body got confused. There were times when I ate dinner at 5pm, not because I was feeling hungry, but just because the sun has set, the body says “time for dinner!”
I can totally understand why people say winter is a gloomy season. The colourful trees turn bald, the grass turn pale, the flowers disappear and the animals go into hiding.
Again, I am sincerely saying “I miss the sun”.

I take pictures whenever i have the camera with me. Unfortunately Lumix FZ8 is quite bulky, unlike compact cameras, so I can’t really bring with me all the time =(. I guess a digital SLR will be harder to carry around =p.
