The first day of snow

It was raining this morning, as I made my way to church. I noticed that though the roads were all wet, what was falling from the sky were not rain drops, but something that looked like flakes. Was suspecting that it might be snow.

To my utter amazement, after church, the streets were all covered with a layer of snow. Was so overwhelmed with excitement that I smsed a few people, (John, my mom and etc), and I even called my friend Prerana!

I was practically freezing, even under layers of clothes, but to be on the streets witnessing this amazing phenomena was all worth it. Here’s a visit down memory lane, an entry on why I name my blog “snowflakes”.

snow…
a peaceful whisper,
drifting softly,
gently covering the earth
with God’s awesomeness.

Poor plant is covered with snow.

And the signboard too….

The monument of Emperor Franz Joseph looks just as majestic, even in the snow.

At one point, it snowed really heavily, almost turning into a blizzard.

The aftermath.

Here’s more pictures…

Hey Sarah, it’s such a wonderful experience for people like us. Winter is really a totally new encounter for us who has been living in SUMMER for all our lives.

Enjoy the snow!

Whoaa…beautiful…My first encounter was in Melbourne, on the way up to a ski-resort… It was very gradual as the snow builds up as we go higher on a jeep. But I have yet to experience snow flakes dropping from the sky.

Hey Adrian, as I know, snowflakes fall together with the normal snow and the way to identify them it to place a black cloth and observe the snow fallen on the cloth. It’s usually quite hard to spot snowflakes, as some needs to be observed through microscope.

If given a chance, i would like to see for myself, to see how does a real snowflake looks like =p.
