A typical Viennese evening

I finally got the chance to spend my evening the Viennese way! As you know, Vienna is famous for theater plays, classical music concerts, operas, chamber music performance, and also ballet performance. I’ve always wanted to watch a few famous ballet performance live, they inclide Swan Lake, the Sleeping beauty, the Nutcracker, and etc. Ok one less on the list now….

Usually a ticket to such performance would cost 30€ and more. My friends and I opted for a cheaper option. With just 3.50€, we could watch the performance standing. The duration of the whole performance is 2 hours, but hey, we girls are experienced shoppers. Two hours of standing to us is manageable!

The performance was great. This is my first time watching live ballet and accompanied with live music. I’ve listened to Tchaikovsky’s nutcracker suit many times before, but this is a totally brand new experience for me, seeing graceful ballerinas dancing to those masterpieces.

When John is here for holiday, I will definitely bring him to Vienna’s signature concerts, like Strauss waltzes, and the Vienna Boys’ Choir.

this is how the interior of Vienna’s state opera looks like.

Prerana and I like to take photos of ourselves in the mirror, looks like we’re getting pretty good at this.

Dancers dancing to the “Waltz of the flower”

I wanted to write a new year post…since now it’s already 16 days past new year, looks like it’s going to be a post-“new year” post instead. Stay tune for it! =)
