It has been quite a while...
9 May 2008
It has been quite a while since I last baked. Given the circumstances I’m in, it satisfies me just to flip through cook books and look at the pictures. Just like photography, there’s something about baking that I find therapeutic and gratifying. Maybe it’s the end product that convinced me that it’s all worth the toil and sweat.
Have to confess…..I didn’t bake this fruit cake / pie. I simply bought the base, layered it with a layer of jam, followed by pudding and arranged fruits on top.
Here I’m blessed with abundance of fresh fruits. Back home in Malaysia, it would definitely cost much more to get fruits like strawberries and grapes, and not to mention they are not as fresh. I’m enjoying it while it last!!
Fresh out from the oven
I made curry puff for the little picnic in Donau. Curry puff is sort of like the default snack during tea time in Malaysia. I made them into the croissant shape instead of the normal shape….do they look more appealing?

(salivating all the way from Msia =P) Its true..those fresh fruits are certainly a whole lot cheaper abroad! (And definitely alot easier to find a basic base on sale for you to arrange fruits on as well)..send a virtual slice over?
