Happy Mid-autumn Festival

Today is mid-autumn festival – the 15th of the eighth month in the lunar calendar. A day when the moon is believed to be the brightest…..... it’s a time of family reunion, as chinese believes that the family should be complete, just as the moon is complete on this auspicious day.

This year I am all alone in a foreign land, where there’s no mooncake, no lantern, but just the moon. It really pains me especially during this festive season, not to be able to spend time with my loved ones.

This reminds me of a scene in American Tail where the little mice sang “Somewhere out there” under the moonlight, missing his family badly. I am that little mice!

“And even though I know how very far apart we are,
it helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star.”
(part of the lyrics in “Somewhere Out There”) *********************************************************

Happy Mid-Autumn, everyone!!

Don’t worry as we do all do think of you. We really miss your cheerful personality. Soon, you will be so adjusted to the new place that you will hardly have the time to be homesick. Do post more personal pics of yourself as we would like to see how you have changed. Take care.
