Wine Tasting Party

It was an evening to remember. My classmates and I, and some other coursemates and PhD students drank wine to our hearts content in a classy tavern called Gandolfi. This wine tasting party was organized by two of my lecturers, Arturas Mazeika and Andrea Janes, for all Masters and PhD students. Besides free flow of wine, we were served with a nice Italian dinner.

I am no wine connoisseur, but I enjoyed the different types of wine, produced locally in Bolzano, Verona and neighboring regions. The owner of the tavern introduced us a variety of different wine, and gave us pointers on how to differentiate each one of them. According to him, good quality wine leaves the taste lingering in your mouth much longer than ordinary wine. I tried sweet wine, red wine, white wine…...not bad for a beginner!

I remembered drinking wine with the cell group once, up in genting, and I turned crimson red. This time it was no exception, after only a few sips, my friends said I looked as red as a tomato.
I am not drunk, it’s just how my body reacts to alcohol i think, it shows that wine is good for my blood circulation. =p

I will make good use of my stay in Italy to taste more wine….who knows after much training, I won’t turn red anymore!

I took some random photos on the wine bottles….

The shelves are full of wine bottles…...

Hey Mithu…..do you know when people drink wine, they usually smell the wine first before drinking. Wine experts are able to tell the quality of the wine by just smelling the ‘aroma’ of the wine. Come on….it’s not so bad…..i think other alcohol drink smell worse, eg: beer, tapai (coconut fermented beer). =p
