Christmas is around the corner!!

Christmas this year is very different indeed. For starters, I will not be celebrating christmas with my family and church friends, like I always have. To echo John’s words, in seasons as this, I am missing family and friend’s terribly, and of course missing John the most. I feel it the most during festive seasons, well, there are more to come….New Year, Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day and also birthdays, sigh!!

I miss singing christmas carols, I miss being part of the christmas dinner serving crew, I miss all the cell group makans…....

On the more positive side of things, I am really excited about my first White Christmas. Snow was anticipated weeks ago, but till now, there’s still no sign of it. Ah well, I think the weather is a bit weird this year. Winter is late in most parts of Europe and some parts of Johore is flooded by sudden heavy rain.

With or without snow, I think the christmas atmosphere here in Bolzano is still great. One of the main attractions of this city during this festive season is the Christmas Market. A poster of the Christmas market reads “Magic Advent in the centre of Bolzano with about 80 exhibitors in Waltherplatz, 1st to 23rd December”.

There are rows and rows of stalls, selling all sorts of Christmas goodies, ranging from christmas cards to trinkets, from apple strudel to gingerbread cookies. I’ve been a frequent visitor to the Market. Whenever I was free or in between classes, I went to the city square to look at all the colourful christmas trinkets and to simply enjoy the yuletide atmosphere.

All these still doesn’t beat the warm, humid christmas at home, surrounded by family and friends. I miss you all very much!!

My christmas buddies….. I miss u guys too!

Here’s wishing everyone out there:
Buon Natale e buon anno nuova!
Merry christmas and a blessed New Year!
