Don't they look familiar?

Yup….don’t be shocked. You are looking at Bata Shop, in Italy!! Back home in Malaysia, Bata is a well known household name, where probably most of us got our cheap school shoes from. Apparently Bata is not that all “chip-plak” as some of us thought, here in Italy, it’s considered quite “branded”, as they sell expensive shoes, boots, sandals, sport shoes, clothes, and handbags. Well, the sight of Bata simply reminds me of my beloved homeland.
Here are more shops, that triggered the same nostalgic feeling in me!
The Body Shop – one of my favourite shops! The range of products here are almost the same as the ones sold in Malaysia, but unfortunately the prices here are much higher.
Lip gloss cost around RM 28 back home, here it cost 15€ (approx. RM 65).
Advice: Girls, don’t do your comestics shopping in Europe =p.
McDonalds! I miss Mc Donalds sooo much. I’ve only eaten McD once ever since I came here =(. There’s only one McD outlet in Bolzano, and it’s located out of town, reachable only by bus and not to mention, it’s super expensive. A McValue meal (Big Mac + french fries + softdrink) cost around 6 -7€ (approx. RM 29). As you can see from the menu, there’s a cheaper option, only 1€ for the hamburger. Naturally, I opted for the hamburger….. with RM29, I can treat myself to a nice restaurant meal!!
Advice: If you come to Italy, eat pizza or sandwiches instead. Here you can get authentic pizza and at the same time, they are much cheaper.
Another branch of Bata Shoe Shop in Bolzano. The earlier one was Bata in Venice.
- In the future, I will probably write a short “survival” guide for holidaying in Italy, so stay tuned. =)
