05.03.09 :: Rapunzel & Edward the scissorhands ::

The first 2 things I’m gonna do after getting married are
1. Cut my hair
2. Cut my nails!!

It’s not fun being Rapunzel and Edward the scissor hands for the last few weeks!!

I use up more shampoo than usual, typing becomes a challenge, even untying a knot became so difficult!!

Yes, I know…I’m a practical person….and am totally not ashamed of it =)

2 years ago, John bought a couple t-shirt for Valentine’s day. Whenever we wear these t-shirts, he gets teased and laugh at, while I get admiring stares.

Ps. Wong even challenged John to use this as his wedding vow. And not just him, a lot of the cellies are encouraging him to do so. Hahha.

13.01.09 :: Some FAQs ::

When we announced that we’re getting married on the 8th of March, response was good! I guess most of you are just glad that we’re finally tieing the knot, after so many years we’ve been together and so many challenges faced.

Here are some of the questions asked about our wedding….

1. Why did u both choose 8th March to get married?
As you know, one year ago we had the general election on 8th of March. So in other words, we are getting married on the 1st year anniversary of the ‘tsunami’ election.

Just to let u know, there wont’ be too much of a political element in our wedding. Wanna assure you that whatever party you belong to, you are still warmly welcomed.

So why 8th march? We just wanted to get married the soonest possible. The only available and suitable date is 8th march. Just in case you weren’t aware, 9th of March (the next day) is a public holiday (prophet mohammad’s birthday). We think that it’ll help friends and relatives who are travelling from afar, as they do not need to drive back the same night, or take leave just to attend our wedding.

2. Why didn’t you go for bridal studio photoshoot?
Just in case you didn’t know, we did not sign up for any bridal studio photo packages. One of the main reasons of not doing so, is because the bride managed to buy her own gowns at a very fantastic (cheap-lah) price! So, there was no need to rent the gown from bridal studios.

John and I have agreed that since we are naturally not that photogenic, after much makeup and hairdo in bridal studio packages, we would most likely be unrecognisable, hehe! So in the end, we’ve decided to ask Wee Lee, our usual church event photographer and CG member, for a simple casual pre-wedding photoshoot. =) ...And it was quite fun.

3. Why are you not doing door trashing / obstacle course thingy?”
Yes, we are not doing the door trashing, or better known as the “jimui sessions”. The groom strongly objects the idea of going through the torturing session to reach his bride. Moreover, it’s too sadistic to see cross-dressings and wasabi drinks served.

07.01.09 :: Wedding Gowns ::

Although this is really old news…I bought my own wedding gown!! =)
Yes, I was quite lucky to stumble upon “Wedding Hub” together with Joyce Tan. The shop was having sales on pre-own gowns. Believe me, the deal was unbelievable!! A wedding gown cost on average RM 200 – RM 400. Though they are pre-owned, but most of them still look new. They should be, coz these gowns are not from bridal studios but from individuals who bought their gowns and after their wedding, sold it back to the shop.

The deal was too good to turn down, so I dragged John along to help me choose one for our big day.
Here are some of the dresses I tried. (Sorry, can’t show u the actual size, coz I looked fat in some gowns =p).

In the end, I ended up buying 2 gowns =p. Here’s the address and contacts of “Wedding Hub”. If you are interested, you can call up and see when they’ll have another round of sales. =)
